Tonsillectomy
Adoption of Coblation® technology for tonsillectomy has grown significantly in the last several years. ArthroCare ENT offers a number of specially designed plasma wands that can be selected based on user preference and can be used for either total tonsillectomy or intracapsular tonsillectomy. Concomitant adenoidectomy procedures, if indicated, can typically also be performed with the same device.

Uvulopalatoplasty
Coblation® uvulopalatoplasty procedures involve the removal of soft tissue in the soft palate and uvula. Concomitant tonsillectomy procedures, if indicated, can typically also be performed with the same device.

Laryngeal Lesion Debulking
Coblation® technology can be used for removing soft tissue during various laryngeal and tracheal procedures. Indications include removing or debulking sessile polyps, lesions, or tumors.
Turbinate Reduction
Coblation® turbinate reduction procedures use a Coblation-channeling® technique designed to simultaneously remove and shrink submucosal turbinate tissue while leaving the mucosal lining virtually undisturbed.
Soft Palate Reduction
Coblation® soft palate reduction snoring treatment procedures involve the reduction and/or removal of soft tissue, such as those found in the soft palate and uvula, to treat patients with socially disruptive snoring. The procedures use a Coblation-channeling® technique designed to simultaneously remove and shrink submucosal tissue while leaving the mucosal lining virtually undisturbed.
Epistaxis Treatment
Rapid Rhino® epistaxis products are designed to control internal nasal bleeding by exerting direct pressure to the sphenopalatine artery. The self-lubricating hydrocolloid fabric covering, made of carboxymethylcellulose (CMC), is engineered to provide easy insertion and removal of the devices without sticking to tissue or blood clots.
